June 2019
• We retired and sold our home in Minot, ND to move to land we had put money down on. Unfortunately, the sellers backed out, so we lived in a campground that summer.
August 2019
• Fun story…one day out of the blue Facebook Marketplace randomly popped up on my phone with a listing for a 40-acre property for sale north of Towner, ND. We had never considered this area, but the price was right. We looked at the property and decided we loved it, so we purchased it and during the summer of 2022 we built our new home.
July 2020
• The old 1908 Lutheran Church in Towner, ND was purchased by friends J and Cassie Rom to save it from being demolished with hopes of maybe turning it into a home.
October 2022
• Some friends and I were prayer walking in small communities of area counties. During one of these walks, we stopped for lunch at a friend’s coffee shop. I mentioned the old church our friends had purchased in Towner, ND and said how cool it would be if they turned it into a coffee shop/bakery. Suddenly two of my friends looked at me and said, “God wants you to do it.”
March 2023
• The Rom’s reached out to us and agreed to sell the church for the exact dollar amount God had previously given me a few months earlier.
June 2023
• We met with a lawyer to put a down payment on the church which would begin the process of owning the church, however God had different plans. During this meeting with only our first payment the church was immediately put in our name.
July 2023
• Upon the purchase of the church, we named it Twice Blessed Coffee House.
• I started to share how I felt what God was wanting for this little church to be; soon after, God’s people began showing up in big ways.
• Someone donated for a year sending checks in the mail.
• Another sent $500.
• Three days after meeting a gal, she donated $3,000 saying God spoke with her about the church.
• Donations of $100, $50, $200, $700, and numerous others were given.
March 2024
• We were asked to set up to serve food and beverages during the Annual Towner 4th of July Festivities.
• The church was not ready, and we weren't sure how to fund this, yet God found a way.
• A dear couple donated a generous $10,000! God is so good!
• A small travel trailer was outfitted to accommodate food and beverage service; Twice Blessed Coffee House was one step closer to reality.
• With this donation we were also able to purchase windows for the church. God is so good!
April 2024
• God was even instrumental in the procurement of an espresso machine. We were able to trade vehicle parts for it! And it works great!
July 2024
• The Annual Towner 4th of July Festivities was a hit, so much so, we were asked if we could be open during the winter. Again, we only had so much money, but then God made a way, and some friends delivered in a big way.
• A 10' x 12' building was acquired and made into a kiosk: complete with electricity, water, insulation, the works!
September 2024
• The kiosk is fully operational and Twice Blessed Coffee House is ready to serve customers from here and there and everywhere.
• We've had people from Mississippi, Idaho, Montana come and give generous donations to the church renovation project.
October 2024
• The blessings continue to pour in to keep God’s plan going.
• A local couple walked in and gave $5,000.
• Another friend gave $500.
We are thankful for every individual who has donated time and effort to see this endeavor through!
Every single day God shows up and is making it happen. He will bring this plan to the realization because He is a big God!
We have invested financially and physically but everyday God strengthens us and encourages us! We keep working, planning and knowing no matter how overwhelming it is God us even bigger and his victory is ahead. Love, peace, and joy and the greatest of these is love.
We are reminded everyday how much this world needs our Fathers love and how it affects people when you let this love shine!
